Sophia Elizabeth (6 days old) meets Mason (almost 18mo)

Today we were able to visit all 3 Potworas! We had planned on going earlier this weekend but the snow storm forced us to wait until today. Everyone is doing so great!!! Sophia is just the cutest little baby girl!!! Mason really enjoyed playing with Uncle Joe, but took some breaks to hang with Sophia! He was very good with her and loved giving her sweet kisses!!! He loves having a new baby girl cousin!

We are so excited that Ashley and Joe Potwora welcomed our beautiful niece into the world on Tuesday December 10th at 9:19am!!! Momma did so great and is at home recovering now! We are soooo happy everyone is healthy and doing fantastic!!! Sophia was 18 inches long and weighed in at 6lbs 3oz!  We were able to visit on Tuesday evening and just fell in love! 

Also this week mason and I had a few play dates with Mimi/Papa, Carrie/Derek/Finn Morrow and Colleen/Ryan/Madeline! Mason also had a slumber party at Mimi/papas while Mikael and I went to the Drake and Miguel concert! And we went to the library again to pick out more train and truck books!

This week was also a huge week because Mason finally likes going to the gym! It has been a work in progress, but after going consistently for ab 2 weeks, he finally loves playing with the other kids and doesn't cry when I leave the room. And today he wasn't even ready to leave when I came to get him! What a wonderful feeling!!!

It seems that mason is developing so rapidly! Here are a few things he did this week:

- He has started saying "cheese" when you take his picture. When we were eating breakfast this week, he pointed to my phone, said "momma cheese" and then said "to dadda!" (We typically send dadda pics thru out the day) But the fact that he picked up on that and pieced it all together on his own is amazing!

- we are finally taking 1 nap a day (just started this week). A few days this week he started to get fussy and then signed to me "sleep". When I asked if he wanted to take a nap, he signed/said "yes please"! Talk about being shocked!!! I put him down and he actually took a 2+ hour nap!!! So I guess it's safe to say he can let us know when he is getting tired!

- I try to have music playing at various times throughout the day... And now if we turn on the music on our phone, mason is not happy unless it is playing via the Bose stereo! Haha so he is definetly my child, as he enjoys listening to music loudly!

- mason still loves reading books and is getting more affectionate with stuffed animals! This week we were reading a Thomas the Train book and there was a dragon in the book. I told him when he saw the dragon he should say "roar". And he caught on super fast. Mikael came home from work and read him the book and without prompting mason remembered to "roar" everytime he saw the dragon on the page.

- during his bath he was holding his toy truck. I asked if he was washing his truck and he responded by pointing to the washcloth (it was hanging up on the bar) and signed please. When I gave him the washcloth, he put his truck under the running water, and started wiping it with the washcloth. And then gave me this little smile, basically saying "now I am washing my truck momma!"

Mason lately... As a 17mo!

I have to admit I am loving being home with mason and most days cannot get enough of him!!! He really is turning Into a toddler and is just so smart and curious!!! We had a play date with Henry Stone last week, got a hair cut and recouped from a fantastic Thanksgiving holiday!!!

Mr. Independent..... Insisting on feeding himself at almost 14 mo

Mason was almost 14mo when he started feeding himself with a spoon.  And to this day he still uses both hands with the fork and spoon.

This video is from the weekend of Sept 20-22 when we visited Aunt Erica and Joe in Chicago, in the video Mason was helping Aunt Erica celebrate choosing a wedding date, venue and church!!! Very impressive since it was less than a week from the day they got engaged! Mason is about 14.5months and this was the first weekend I had been retired!

Play dates!!!

We love doing play dates during the week now that I am a stay at home mom!!! 

Last week we had a little play date with Henry Stone (15mo) Little Miss Peggy Sansone (5weeks) and Katie and Maureen! Henry and mason loved playing together in Henry's Tee-Pee and reading books! 

This morning we had a breakfast date with Miss Colleen, Ryan (25mo) and maddie (2mo). And then We tried out a new playroom at Chesterfield  mall called Toy Tyme! Mason and Ryan got along great and interacted a ton! They split some chocolate chip pancakes, oranges and eggs at breakfast.  And they loved playing together at Toy Tyme!
