Putting together puzzles 18mo

Mason loves puzzles and recently gotten super good and super fast at putting them together. Check out the video...

2 new milestones....negotiating and potty and a new shopping phase

Well at 18 months mason is finally starting to show some of his Parsonage roots. He now understands the act of negotiating.  Which is actually great news for Mikael and I!!! I also think he trusts us more.   I can finally now say, "Mason if you eat 2 more bites of dinner, you can have a treat." And he will listen and then after eating he will ask for the promised treat.  This new found understanding of  "give and receive" is great for now....I am sure it will back fire on us as he gets older and begins making the terms of the deal.

The other milestone is that 3 times In the last week, mason has told us when he needs a diaper change . He has brought wipes to me and also said "momma stinky" while holding a diaper. And all times he has needed a diaper change due to being stinky. This has kinda opened my eyes to the fact that maybe he is trying to tell us something and is ready for potty training. Or maybe it is just coincidence, either way, I love that he is understanding that wipes/diapers are used when he is wet or stinky.

As I have said before I love the stage that Mason is in! He loves being a helper, understands and comprehends most things we ask/suggest he do, and he is just so love able....however he has started a new phase too. I try not to run a bunch of errands with him but when I do have to run the occasional errand he is usually awesome and content.  Twice in the last week when I have had to run to a store, he was not the happy mason that I usually blog about. Instead he was that crazy kid, that cannot be held or put into a shopping cart! And I definitely looked like that "mom". Like I would pick him up and try to carry him, and he literally would wiggle out of my arms. And then once on the floor, he would sprint away! This happened today while at Target.....he tried to climb out of the cart and would sprint down the aisles. The only way I could get him back in, was by turning on some music on my phone, to which he then started dancing in his seat. So we looked kinda funny having a dance party in target, but oh well. And of course he likes to listen to music loud (like his momma), so it was on the highest setting. Hahah! So needless to say, mason is a good errand runner if he wants to be.

Cute 18 month old videos of Mason (puppies and piano)1

Mason is 18 mo in both videos. He loves playing the piano when we are at Mimi and Papas house. It is so cute to watch him enjoy music. He is constantly asking to play the piano and listen to music whenever possible. He also loves dancing! And he also will tell you if he doesn't like a certain song , as he will ask for you to change it.

He loves dogs too. My parents got buddy 3.5 weeks ago and Mason enjoys growling, laughing and chasing Buddy. He has always loved our yellow lab, Maggie and calls he "Mags". He is learning how to say Buddy too. He is also very into Lily (our 5yr old black lab mix). If we are the basement he will make sure her bones and toys are in her room. He will also throw balls/bones for her. When we leave he always wants to help put her in her room and waves and says good bye. He also blows her kisses. Finally, "lily" is kind of hard to pronounce, but he says his own version.

Mason lately....18months

I think I have said this before, but I am pretty obsessed with this stage of Masons life! He is just such a fun little man and totally shows his personality! He loves being a little helper, he has his own fake laugh, he loves play dates and does a great job sharing (most of the time) and he has his own opinion about numerous things!
I feel so lucky to spend so much time with him each day! He loves trains, trucks, FaceTime with friends/family, books and running wild! He can usually communicate pretty easily what he wants/dislikes.

He is great at giving lovings and kisses!

For once they got it right....tons of snow!!

So We hung out inside most of the day today due to the cold weather and crazy amount of snow! But we had to venture out to our driveway and see if mason liked the snow. It took about 20 minutes to get him bundled up and it took 5 seconds for him to face plant and decide he hates snow! Hahahah!

We put him on the ground next to the snow, he took one step and literally face planted Into the snow! Poor guy! We had probably about 2-3 feet outside our garage due to wind and the sheer amount of snow falling! Maybe we will try again tomorrow. He was definitely interested in it! Just couldn't make it out of the garage!

Holiday visit to Columbus to meet Greyson!

I will post about all of our Christmas in a bit, but wanted to share some pictures from our trip to Columbus Ohio this past week.

Greyson was born on Tuesday Dec 17th and was 7lbs 13oz and 21inches long! Christie and Jevon are loving being parents and Christie is recovering great!

We went to Columbus to visit on 12/30 and loved meeting our new nephew! Mason also enjoyed loving and playing with baby Greyson! Mason also did great in the car ride both ways! He just read books and played with some small toys for the 7.5-8.5hr car ride. We drove back in snow for most the way home so it took a bit longer but he did great!
