A sick baby....almost 16 months old

Cuddling during World Series game 4
This is the face Of a sick child at an Urgent care.... Thanks a lot mason!
 More cuddling!
Mason came down with a cold/croup on Wednesday and hasn't been feeling great the last few days. Mikael happened to be out of town, so it was mason, lily and I holding down the Olson house this week. Although I was tired because Mason woke up at least 1x/hour on Wednesday and Thursday night from 8pm - 4am it is nights like those that remind me how much I love being a mom. No, I don't enjoy having a sick child, but it is reassuring knowing that I can comfort and calm Mason down when he is upset and feeling icky. He is also super cuddly and loving when he is sick. So I literally was showered with kisses both nights. For example, Thursday night he had been sleeping and woke up coughing and then started crying.... I gave him about 1 minute to see if he would fall back asleep and then went into his room. Once I grabbed him out of his crib and started rocking him, he looked up at me, kept saying Momma.... And giving me kisses. And also threw in a "thank you" in sign language. It melted my heart!

He had a fever between 99-101.5 but it has gone done as of today. But he just can't knock this cough. I called the exchange this morning again (called last week too) and they recommended going to the urgent care. Once we arrived, it was like something clicked in Mason and he perked right up. He was happy and calm and very little coughing. Mikael and I were almost embarrassed because the doctor was like, "well he looks like he is feeling ok".....!!! I mean obviously we wouldn't bring our child in, if he had been feeling wonderful. Regardless, they listened to his lungs and they sounded clear and his ears were clear. They did a strep test and it came back negative.  So we were sent home relieved it wasn't something horrible, but just a really bad cold and cough.

Also he weighed in at 24lbs!!

Atlanta pictures

Atlanta trip continued...

A few of the other exhibits we visited included: the giant snow crabs, sea otters, beluga whale and giant jelly fish. Mason was in awe the entire day!

Grandma and Grandpa arrived in Atlanta Thursday evening. Mason definitely remembered them and was so excited to see them! A big thanks to them for watching Mason Thursday night so we could go out to dinner on our 4th Anniversary. We went to the Pacific Rim restaurant and enjoyed some fantastic Sushi and then went to the Westin to see the beautiful view from their revolving restaurant on the 75th floor!

Friday we ventured to the World of Coke! Mason loved the 7ft tall Coca Cola Polar bear! He also got to hold one of the Olympic torchEs from the 2012 London Games! After his morning nap we went to Midtown for lunch and to walk around. Friday evening we went to dinner with Grandpa and grandma at Teds Steakhouse and went to the Westin again to see the view before sunset.
On Saturday morning we walked over to grandma and grandpas hotel and explored centennial park again and after our nap we went on a Ferris Wheel ride! Mason was a huge fan!!! We then headed to lunch and then off to the airport.

It was a fantastic weekend! And Mason loved the airport too!!!

Atlanta Anniversary Trip and Visiting Grandma and Grandpa

This year to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary we decided to take a trip to Atlanta and to also visit Mikaels parents who recently relocated to Warner Robins, GA. We ended up spending Wednesday-Saturday in Atlanta instead of staying in Warner Robins because Grandpa and Grandma had recently moved apartments.

We had a fantastic time! We arrived Wednesday  evening a little after Masons bedtime so we went straight to the hotel. He did great on the flight and we had the entire row so he was able to hang out in his car seat!
On Thursday, we woke up and walked around the Centennial Olympic park. We were staying downtown which was great because everything was within waking distance. We then headed to the Georgia Aquarium. We didnt have to wait in lines and were able to see the Whale Sharks eat their breakfast at the 1st exhibit. Mason loved everything about the aquarium! We decided to walk back to the hotel so mason could take his morning nap, but finished the Aquarium that afternoon.

The whale sharks were 25ft long and some of the sting rays had a wing span of 16ft!
During the whale shark feeding , there was a woman explaining the process and invited children to come sit up close by the glass. Mason decided after he saw the other kids go sit up close that he would join them. It was so cute! He is the one right in front of the aquarium representative!
Mason also loved the Dolphin Show! I couldn't take any pictures during the actual show, but he learned how to sign "fish" pretty quickly. If the dolphins stopped jumping and doing tricks he would quickly start signing "more" "fish". It was adorable and we were proud parents that he caught on how to sign "fish"!
