Well at 18 months mason is finally starting to show some of his Parsonage roots. He now understands the act of negotiating. Which is actually great news for Mikael and I!!! I also think he trusts us more. I can finally now say, "Mason if you eat 2 more bites of dinner, you can have a treat." And he will listen and then after eating he will ask for the promised treat. This new found understanding of "give and receive" is great for now....I am sure it will back fire on us as he gets older and begins making the terms of the deal.
The other milestone is that 3 times In the last week, mason has told us when he needs a diaper change . He has brought wipes to me and also said "momma stinky" while holding a diaper. And all times he has needed a diaper change due to being stinky. This has kinda opened my eyes to the fact that maybe he is trying to tell us something and is ready for potty training. Or maybe it is just coincidence, either way, I love that he is understanding that wipes/diapers are used when he is wet or stinky.
As I have said before I love the stage that Mason is in! He loves being a helper, understands and comprehends most things we ask/suggest he do, and he is just so love able....however he has started a new phase too. I try not to run a bunch of errands with him but when I do have to run the occasional errand he is usually awesome and content. Twice in the last week when I have had to run to a store, he was not the happy mason that I usually blog about. Instead he was that crazy kid, that cannot be held or put into a shopping cart! And I definitely looked like that "mom". Like I would pick him up and try to carry him, and he literally would wiggle out of my arms. And then once on the floor, he would sprint away! This happened today while at Target.....he tried to climb out of the cart and would sprint down the aisles. The only way I could get him back in, was by turning on some music on my phone, to which he then started dancing in his seat. So we looked kinda funny having a dance party in target, but oh well. And of course he likes to listen to music loud (like his momma), so it was on the highest setting. Hahah! So needless to say, mason is a good errand runner if he wants to be.
